The goal of this proposal is to regenerate the waterfront area by redesigning its connection with the city, inviting the citizens to make use of this new public space. Our design aims to organise and homogenise the waterfront ensuring continuity between pedestrian routes, relaxation areas and places for restaurants and cafes.

The design plan is developed into 3 areas depending on the differentiation of the waterfront’s width. The first one on the northwest side is the narrowest. The one in the centre is developed along Miaouli coast and the third one encloses a small square in front of Vlisidi theatre. The developments are designed according to the width of each area, contributing to the continuity of the design.

The interventions on the waterfront edge also differ depending on the areas relation with the sea level. On the northwest side a concrete barrier is interrupted by small balconies enabling the view. A wooden deck addition on the existing pier of the centre creates a relaxation area. On the east side a barrier is absent creating a direct relation with the sea.
