Design of a public square at the junction of Kallidopoulou and Olgas str.
The proposal concerns the construction of a small public square in the corner of Kallidopoulou and Olgas str. An approach that aims to positively influence the aesthetics and function of the site that is currently occupied by parked vehicles. The intention of the study is to redefine the use of the area and prioritize the pedestrian movement.
The biggest part of the study area is blank. The cars occupy the central space while the pedestrian movement is constrained towards the edges of the site. So it was necessary to organize the movement of the pedestrians around the site and make the connections with the neighboring networks and also create a space for a small pubic square.

The parking spaces are repositioned at the side of the site. The space is divided in two parts with the use of a vertical construction. One space for pedestrian movement and another space for leisure activities.
This vertical construction consists of metallic cylindric tubes that resembles to organic shapes. The gaps that occur between the tubes are allowing the view from both sides of the boundary creating the feeling of a single space.
